The short version

Covenn doesn't use a login cookie — your session is kept in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, so there is currently nothing "strictly necessary" set on you at all. The only cookies in play are analytics cookies, and they're off unless you say yes.

Analytics cookies (PostHog)

If you click "Accept all" on the banner, we load PostHog, which sets a cookie named ph_[project key]_posthog, lasting up to 365 days, holding a random ID (and your logged-in user ID, once you're signed in) so we can see how the site is used in aggregate — which pages get visited, whether the free calculator leads to signup, that kind of thing. PostHog also uses your browser's local storage for some of this, not just the cookie. Because that's data going to a third party and tied to you over time, it needs your opt-in consent — it doesn't qualify for the UK's narrower cookie-consent exemption for purely first-party functional analytics.

If you click "Reject all", none of this loads and no analytics cookie is set. Nothing else on the site depends on it working.

Changing your choice

Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer on any page to reopen the banner and change your choice at any time.
